About Us
About the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services (OES)
The Alameda County Office of Emergency Services (OES) leads countywide efforts to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Serving as the Operational Area for 14 cities, special districts, and unincorporated communities, OES coordinates resources, provides critical information, and supports local agencies during emergencies that exceed routine capabilities.
As part of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, OES maintains the County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), oversees emergency planning and training, manages alert and warning systems, and strengthens partnerships across government, nonprofit, and private sectors. Our work ensures that Alameda County remains ready for any hazard—natural, technological, or human-caused.
We are committed to service excellence, continuous improvement, and building a resilient, inclusive community. Through innovative programs, trusted leadership, and strong collaboration, OES advances preparedness, enhances response capabilities, and supports long-term recovery for all residents.
