Alameda County Disaster Council
The Alameda County Disaster Council serves as the County’s official advisory body on emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Chaired by the President of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and Vice-Chaired by the Sheriff as the Director of Emergency Services, the Council brings together county departments, local jurisdictions, special districts, and key partners to coordinate policy, review plans, and strengthen alignment across the Operational Area. Through regular meetings, the Disaster Council enhances collaboration, ensures compliance with state requirements, and promotes a unified approach to protecting Alameda County communities before, during, and after disasters.
Emergency Managers’ Association (EMA) of Alameda County
The Emergency Managers’ Association (EMA) of Alameda County is a countywide coalition of emergency managers, city partners, special districts, and public safety stakeholders dedicated to improving preparedness and coordination across the Operational Area. The EMA provides a forum for sharing best practices, aligning training and planning efforts, and strengthening communication among jurisdictions. Through ongoing collaboration, the association supports a consistent, high-quality emergency management program and helps ensure that every community in Alameda County is better prepared for disasters.
